Strap line exemptions

The Tasmanian Government’s positioning statement forms the strap line of the logo. It is a mandatory part of the logo. However, there are two instances when it may not be appropriate:

  1. Size of the logo
If the surface area on which the logo is being produced is not above the minimum size requirements, for example putting the logo on a pen, the strap line may be removed. In this instance, seek formal advice from the Agency Communications Manager; there is no need to gain a formal exemption from Director of Communications (Office of the Premier). If there is the opportunity to include the logo with the strap line at or above minimum size requirements, this must be the preferred option.
  2. Content of the message
When the use of the positioning statement will be incompatible with the message being communicated, the strap line may be removed. In this instance, seek advice from the Agency Communications Manager and formal approval for an exemption must be sought from Director of Communications (Office of the Premier). In this case, an exemption form must be submitted.
